‘Immaterial’ was an exhibition held in Garden City Art Space, Taipei, in 2020. The exhibition was shared with artist An Chen and explored the contrast between our material and immaterial worlds. For this exhibition I produced a series of illustrations that were compiled into a graphic novel called 'Selves'. Selves began with the concept put forth by existential psychologist Ernest Becker that the self is a fabrication that is manifested as a defensive reaction to the world around us. In my illustrations and writing I explored concepts such as impermanence and dualism.
